Volunteer with FOSL

Friends of Smyrna Library is a volunteer-run nonprofit, and we couldn’t do it without people like you! Whether you have an hour a month or want to dive into a committee project, there's a place for you here.

What It Means to Volunteer

Volunteering with FOSL is flexible and community-focused. You can help once in a while at an event or join a committee and contribute your unique skills behind the scenes. There's no minimum time commitment—just opportunities to get involved when you can. We value each and every hour of our volunteer's time and ensure that every volunteer event is properly planned, organized, and staffed.

Some Ways You Can Help:

  • 📘 Book Sales & Pop-ups: set up, help during the sale, or pack up afterward

  • 🎉 Special Events: assist with planning, prepping, or manning events or market booths

  • 🧠 Committees: help with programs, communications, membership, and more —no board membership required!

  • 🛠 Other: design flyers, organize supplies, brainstorm ideas, or anything you’re excited to offer

Teens Welcome!

Need community service hours for school? We’d love to have you volunteer at book sales and events.
