The Smyrna Public Library and the Friends of Smyrna Library will host a celebration of life for William “Bill” P. Marchione Jr. The event is scheduled for 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 30, in the library meeting room.

The Friends of Smyrna Library has named three retired board directors — Dr. William Marchione, Mary Ann Marchione and Ellie Wolf — as Board Emeritus members, recognizing years of service to the organization.

The Friends of Smyrna Library will kick off its action-packed 2026 lecture series in April, and this year’s programming is specially curated to highlight local history tied to the nation’s ongoing 250th celebration.
